Time Bridge .
A film shaped by a six-month residency at Bridge Guard in Štúrovo, where the Danube, the border and the changing relationship between two neighbouring cities became the starting point for a story about connection, separation and time.

Made on the road
Following an open call, the project was selected by the professional committee of the Bridge Guard artist residency for a six-month creative stay in Štúrovo. During the residency, material and inspiration were gathered for the short animated film Time Bridge.
Between two cities
Štúrovo lies on the Slovak bank of the Danube, opposite the former royal city of Esztergom in Hungary. The river forms a natural border between them, yet throughout their history there has always been a need to create a connection across it.
A bridge as a symbol
Today the two cities, countries and nations are joined by a bridge, but this connection has not always existed. The bridge was destroyed and rebuilt several times, becoming a symbol of hope, fragility and renewal — much like the relationship between the two sides themselves.

The surviving archive contains a substantial sequence of visual designs that reveal how the film’s imagery developed from the landscape, the river and the historical memory of the border.
